Early 1980s. Not really haute horlogerie as it has a plastic retainer ring with a crown tube attached But I just love the fun creations that Cartier used to make
I might even be a bigger Cartier fanboy than Rolex, plsdontbanme

You should follow a guy named George Cramer on IG. He posts a lot of great Cartier watches.

Nice one Bas. Did you add it to your collection?

No, this one was a little small for me, I know there is a bigger version as well though.
I just cleaned it and gave it a new battery.

Some of these Cartier watches are really beautiful, I would love to get one of those original designs they came up with in my collection.

Would you consider that watch the one that stood out the most thus far in what you have repaired?

Style wise I might be in the same boat my friend, if they ban me before you I'll let you know if I find a Cartier forum.

I've only repaired a few Cartier watches, this one is definitely the most unique.
Another few favourites I'd like to have is the Santos Galbée two tone (34mm), the 18k yg Tank Americaine and the Tank Basculante.

I am also really drawn to Cartier.

I went to one of the Cartier boutiques on my recent trip to NYC hoping to see the 100th anniversary Tank Louis models. They had the medium, but not the large version. It looked great, but was way too small for me.

I have really been thinking about the large version. I know if I buy it, I will probably get hosed if I ever sell it, but I just really like it.

The small and medium tank models are indeed too small, large is for me the sweet spot and xl is too big for a normal sized wrist IMO.
The Tank louis being gold and it has a manual movement makes it the nicest Tank of the collection.

Looks like a nice tribute to whoever first thought of strapping a pocket watch onto the wrist...!
