Suggestions on a GMT or Sea Dweller

I am trying to find out if anyone that owns either a Sea Dweller or GMT that is 12+ years old that still wears it on a daily basis and is not worried about water. I have 1665 and I wear 5 days of the week but I would never go swimming with it nor would I want it to get wet if there was a rain storm. I prefer 40mm size and I would like something that I could just dive into pool with like I use to with my Sea Dweller in the 90s. Any suggestions pre ceramic

I have a 1675 that I wear 3 or 4 days a week. I have taken it swimming in pools and it regularly gets wet. The only reason I do that is because I have my watchmaker replace the seals and gaskets annually. I don't do a full on pressure test, which is why I would never go in water of any significant depth.

I have a 16660 Sea Dweller that I would not worry about swimming in, it has a sapphire crystal. My 1675 GMT with an acrylic crystal, not so much!

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one with sapphire crystal.

I started with a Pepsi, GMTII, then after 20 years of daily wear, I traded it towards a GMTII BLNR ( made 2k on the deal), then 6 months later I fell in love with/ bought the DS4k) and since I did so it has become my daily watch for 2 reasons; 1 I'm not a fan of the polished center links, and 2 it calls to me and is unique.

For a small fee say $150-200 take it to your AD or watchmaker and have the waterproofing service done. All gaskets, crystal if required and pressure tested. I just had this done on my 1995 SD.

Wear my gmt that is 13 yo this year. Rain snow pool and even wore it to sauna before.
It was serviced for the first time last year. Never had any issues with waterprofness.

I find my SD4000 to be the perfect modern Rolex sports watch but it all boils down to personal preference as far as models go..

I think if it's serviced and has gaskets and seals refreshed periodically, I think the waterproofness of the watch should be OK. I wear mine regularly without worry.
