I mean is it worth hanging on to it or trading it since it is not going to be out of production soon and can be easily picked up again.

Why would you even consider selling it? Are you tired of it? You could always chage the bezel and you'd have a different watch.

Easy...if you like it - and are not raging for another specific watch - keep it and enjoy it.

Keep the LV. For SS Subs (right now) it is the best Sub Rolex makes. The new SS Sub will be nice but it will never be the LV. In the future you might miss that great big green bezel. Like Nicko says slap a new black bezel on it what other Sub can do this?

Will it ever be worth more than MSRP well.... if your son's son has it yes you will be dead. Rolex makes too many watches to ever have anyone Rolex be worth mint. Even DD Presidents are $15,000 used. As many have said before buy a Rolex because you like it. A Rolex is not a sound investment to make money you will not make money on a Rolex unless you deal in new or used Rolex watches. IMHO

Do you like your green sub? If so keep it, if not, sell it.

Well I guess if you're thinking about trading in the LV it may be because you found another watch you desire even more and don't want /can't have both or perhaps that you are just not crazy about it.
Only you know how much you like the LV, forget about whether it will be worth something later on because nobody knows.

Only keep it if you really like it.....based on how I feel about my daytona and the passion i see in this forum from the watch owners I'd say we really love our pieces and wouldn't part with them unless we had to.

Back in 2005 I wanted the new ss Turn o graph on an oyster bracelet, just something about the red second hand and date. I was in Hong Kong at the time and ended up in an AD that had the watch but with a super jubilee. I then tried the TT version with an Oyster bracelet, wasn't crazy about it, but the salesman kept talking down the ss version and how much he didn't like it and how good the TT looked on me.
What should have happened was me asking if he could get the ss version with the Oyster and leaving it at that.......instead i let him talk me into buying the TT version!!!! Went home wore it for a while...after 2 days trying to convince myself it was a good chioce, decided no no no, i really don't like it and so sold it at a us$1700 loss!!

Then i found the daytona and didn't bother with the rest....so remember only buy what you really want.

hope it helps

I say keep it! (that is of course if you like. If not, then the choice is obvious I guess)

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks everyone for all the comments, I will think about it a little while longer till i really want something else. I just feel the green sub is way too common and I already had it for a good while since it first came out, thinking of moving on to Deepsea.

imo - do whatever your heart desires. if the LV doesnt smile at you anymore, why keeping it? Deepsea would be a nice choice, but can you handle the size & height?

future of green subby.

This is 4000 feet. i have a GREEN SUBBY and plan to hang on to it for a few more yrs and see where the market heads. Don't know where the collectability lies with this one quite yet. Have to see what the market dictates and when Rolex stops production. thx.

99.9999 % of people probably don't need to be buying watches as an investment to cash in later for a profit. I doesn't make alot of sense for the average wis. What I like is that as my taste changes I can sell or trade a Rolex with not totally loosing my a$$ as you do with alot of other brands.

The LV is definitely going to carve out it's place in Rolex history.. It may even become one that is a must have for collectors in the future.. hard to say..

Right now, they are pretty easy to come by and there is not really much of a premium above a black Sub...at least not much more than the extra cost retail..

If you want something that is more recent and you are the type who trades in watches like your automobile, then I say do it.... It will take a decade or more before there is an real movement to or from this watch...

Shorter run = higher collectability in the future.....normally

There are other models out there right now which have had a much shorter run and could have that short run halted in the near future.....namely the COSC Non-Date Sub...

I love the LV and the ND Sub.......I would not buy any watch because I had a hunch that it could be worth more in the future I would buy because it's what appealed to me....I don't ever buy to sell....so my case is different to some

Yeah I have to agree with most everybody so far. If it just isn't singing to you anymore, then get rid of it and get what is really getting your attention. But if you have that slight thought that you may regret it down the road, then don't do it because you will definetley regret it for sure. Just my two cents as an LV owner.
