Horrifying . . .

What, in your opinion, is the scariest horror movie of all time?

The Blair Witch Project kind of freaked me out, because it seemed like a documentary/real life perspective situation.
I didn't really like the movie because it made me feel uncomfortable. I wouldn't watch it again

Have not seen that yet, but I will definitely check it out this week. You are third person who has told me it is frightening.

Stevo, I had the exact same reaction to Paranormal Activity. For me, the audience reaction definitely played a big part, as everyone in the packed theatre was truly scared and quiet (except when they jumped and screamed).

ANYTHING with clowns freaks a lot of people out. I have to admit I'm a bit suspicious of clowns . . . Of course, John Wayne Gacey did a lot to add to those negative perceptions.

The ring

Alien

Poltergeist

Hellraiser

All freaked me out....and the first nightmare on elm street scared me at the time

And yes....Blair witch project ....uncomfortable.

Haven't watched horror for quite sometime.....so these are dated opinions.

I thought Poltergeist was scary as -- when I saw it as a little boy. If I remember correctly, it wasn't rated R but still FREAKY!

Will see it this week.

Read the book and thought the movie was scary when I first saw it in the theatres. Just last week I watched it for the first time since then, and it didn't frighten me as much but still a freaky idea for a plot.

I had the exact same reaction to this move.

Very very creepy, to say the least!

Cheers,

The Blair Witch Project was one of the most brilliant films I've ever seen, especially given the budget.

The film was dripping with cogent social commentary to boot.

Oh, and it is was pretty creepy, too.

The Ring and The Grudge were pretty good also. The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activty were tops for me.
