My first Rolex for dummies. I need your help!

I have been intersted in starting a Swiss watch collection for a super long time. I currently only own one watch and that's a Tissot T-Race. I bought it from a guy a few months back for $400. A few years ago I purchased a brietling colt from diamonds international in Mexico for $2400. Due to financial issues I had to sell it for less then half of what I paid for it. I am looking to buy a new timepiece again to start my collection. I am looking to spend around 6k for my next piece. Should I buy used or new? What would be a good piece to buy in my price range? I love brietlings look and uniqueness. However I know that Rolex will depreciate less if I buy new. I would like to buy one new piece a year. My knowledge of Swiss timepieces is slowly getting bigger. What I mean is I know little. I joined to this forum for help from enthusiasts to help me make better decisions in the wide variety of choices. I would love to buy a Daytona because it makes me tingly whenever I try one on. Any info, opinion, or general know how from a fellow watch enthusiast would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Danny
