5167a question

Does anybody know if 5167a has hacking seconds?

Yes if it’s the 330 caliber movement introduced the past few years. Older ones do not.

They recently updated the 5167 models to the new 330 movement which does have hacking seconds after the upgrade from the 324.

The newer movement has hacking seconds.

Old is 324
New is 330

I have a hacking 330 in my 5711.

Hacking or not, Doesn’t sway me one way or the other

Not sure on the 5167a, but if you move the hands backwards on a 5164 the seconds stop, then will resume after the crown is pushed in. You can kinda hack it yourself.

My AD got traumatized when I showed them this "trick", they insisted I stop as the movement could get damaged. 😅

I bought my 5167a from AD in August of ‘21. It has new clasp but old non-hacking movement, so my guess is the new movement was 2022 release.

Funny, my AD said I could set time in both directions, just don't backwind past the date. Watch is running strong 7 yrs later!

Have spoken to the Patek AD watch maker and another watchmaker and can confirm there is no damage caused by putting a bit of “back pressure” on the crown to hold the second hand in place.

The hacking seconds on the newer movement is handy but the new clasp is not as nice or comfy as the old one.

Interesting. Anyone else with the new clasp share this view?

Interesting, haven’t experienced the new clasp.
My experience with the old clasp was it seriously inferior to the watch.

Yes, I purchased the new clasp for my older 5167 but found the center section to be uncomfortable on my wrist, but this may be a personal question. Fortunately, I kept the old clasp, installed it and sold the new one.

I have two 5167s, A with old clasp and RG with new clasp. I also think the older clasp is more comfortable.

One of my biggest regrets. I got a new 5164 and sold my old 5167 to fund it. I should’ve swapped the clasps.

Greg

This is the exact upgrade I’ve been debating. Love the dial layout on the 5164 and love GMTs in general.

I did a 5167 plus cash for the 5164. No regrets at all. The 5164 is just such an easy and useful travel time watch. It is very well executed.

A little off questions.

My 5726a is changing month on the 15th of each month and NOT on 31st. Everything else works great. Does it need a service ? its 2017 production.

I’d suggest starting a new thread if you want people to see your question that has nothing to do with this thread
