Price increase.

Hi guys I’m currently in a list where last month I was asked to pay the 20 % deposit about a month ago and was told pretty much next sub c to come in store was mine. Since then there has been a price increase, which unfortunately I will have to pay.
Do rolex normally hold back on stock prior to an increase or would it be just as likely that the AD themselves would hold stock back to cash in on the extra money ?

Sucks for sure, but on the bright side you will still pay less at an AD than you would from a grey dealer on this model.

There have been plenty of UK incomings on here in the last few weeks so I doubt anyone could accuse Rolex of holding back stock. ADs on the other hand, who knows how many pieces magically appeared from the safe this morning to make their way to the next person on “the list”.

Ha you can’t help being suspicious with some of the stories you here on here. To be honest I don’t care one bit about paying another £300 on top as long as I get the watch I’ve waited so long for. Plus it’s still less than the extra £2000 some greys we’re charging. And there’s no doubts about 100 % authenticity

I understand the slight trepidation one might feel when making such a purchase online, however is there really cause for concern when buying from one of the BIG well known TS's ? Everything I've ever purchased from them has been just fine. Just wonder why so many seem to think that an AD is the ONLY way to be 100% sure. Large gray dealers would not thrive if their reputation were not stellar in that regard. Just an interesting observation I've seen seemingly as of late.

Don't think there is any conspiracy here, like making puddles in a hurricane.

Deposit for a Rolex is the biggest scam!!
Imagine when an AD takes $3k from 100 people, that’s $300K and they keep it, reinvest it or even delist it in a bank for 6 months!!!
Plus are they really worried they won’t be able to sell a ss professional model??

If the AD is being honest, I dont think they will mind for showing the shipment proof. But still, asking for deposit is ridiculous.

There's no real reason for either of them to do that. It's an ongoing business and not a one off transaction. If you apply your suspicion then ADs should not open or sell anything the day before a price increase.

Just keep waiting and pay up when it arrives. Don’t read too much into it.

Some people disagree with ADs taking deposits, but it stops the kind of people joining lists who back out when their turn comes.

ADs get all sorts of excuses about birthdays, close to Christmas, just after Christmas, back from holiday, going on holiday, wife won’t let them etc etc..

I’ve heard of people saying they got their call on a BLNR etc but the timing isn’t great which i find crazy and these people lose credibility with ADs.

If you pay a deposit they know you’re serious and not a time waster, and you’ll get a call soon.
