Received a call from my AD - Daytona WG/Panda - 116519LN

Morning all

New to the forums but excited there is a forums for us. I've been reading the forums this morning and assuming I already know the answer to this question... I've been holding out for my 2nd Rolex since I saw the Daytona w/meteorite dial but as most of have tried, I too have been unsuccessful locating one new from an AD. I did get my name onto a prioritized list about a year ago (actually forgot about it) but never heard a word.

To my surprise I received a phone call last week from my AD and was offered a Daytona WG/Steel (Panda) for slightly below MSRP at ($29k).

Question is (revised): What is the likelihood of getting a Daytona with the Metorite Dial? Anyone on a list? Experiences? Have not seen many.. contacted about 35 dealers over the past year and it's the same answer..no not in stock, never heard of a list, sorry list is closed ect..

Some pics...heading to the store today to see in person.

Wait are u really questioning this?! Lmao. The meteorite is a pipe dream man. Not happening in this day and age. Unless you wanna spend over double for one resale, you got a better chance of winning the lottery. Buy the watch you got offered.

A bird in the hand…

I would get the WG, and for a slight discount? Dang - seems almost WAY to good to be true…

My AD just received their FIRST meteorite Daytona and they think it will be the only one they see. These are rare and not a lot of them are being sent out.

I would buy the watch that was offered. Great reference and beautiful. Stay on the list for the meteorite dial and should one show up, I doubt it but you never know, just move the other Daytona should you want. My philosophy is "one on the wrist is better than 10 on the list". Let us know what you decide.

Beautiful in person, done deal. Store was empty (inventory wise) with the exception of 4 exhibition models on display.

This was the first Daytona they have seen. No one on the store has seen a meteorite dial in person.

During the transaction about ten different people came in and asked if they could buy the exhibition models...my back was towards them luckily they didn't see mine on.

Prior to purchase they resized the band for me and then we celebrated with champagne. Great exp as well and my 2nd purchase from this AD.

(Forum requires ten posts for me to post high res images..)

It was the yellow gold, 116518LN. I loved it and had my name down for this, but the “Paul Newman” dial variant. My AD called to have me look at this and I bought on the spot. I really like the meteorite in this iteration. I thought the BLRO with the WG was almost unreadable in meteorite but this looks great.

This is very good news if true. Please share more details when you can - was this in a big city, small town, any story they shared (you were next on list, few people cancelled that was ahead of you, etc...)?

Received a call from my AD - Daytona WG/Panda - 116519LN

i call complete BS. i cannot imagine any AD offering a Daytona at a discount no matter what variant it is.

anyway to answer your question, your chances of getting a meteorite without some S E R I O U S purchase history are extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely slim to none. And chances are it’s not going to go to the client who passed up daytonas below msrp.

And why should they offer a discount? I personally know five people who would be eternally grateful to buy that watch at list with cash waiting, six if I include myself!

Just as believable as the guy who claimed he got the blue Sky Dweller with no purchase history
