Problem I have with the Deep Sea
The problem is that I really like the Daytona's, the Submariner's, and the the GMT's. All flavors. They are all really great looking watches and of course with incredible Rolex quality. These are the sport watches let's say. But it is difficult for me to wear them after putting on the DSSD. The DSSD is such a statement in weight, technology, and presence. It is a problem now.
Can anyone relate?

I have the same issue I can't go back to anything smaller.. After DSSD I start buying Panerai now.

If you wear your DSSD everyday, I'm sure putting on any of these others makes your wrist feel naked. I have a couple of Breitlings and know what you mean.
I usually wear a watch for a few weeks at a time, you do get use to the lighter weight pretty quickly if you give it a chance.

i know exactly how you feel, my DSSD is my regular beater but, variety is the spice of life & you need something else to wear just so you can remember how much you love the DSSD

Great responses. Breitlings are my next favorite larger watch but.. I like the DSSD better because it is a.... Rolex! . Good point about getting used to smaller watches and appreciating the DSSD. I think that unless someone has adopted to the DSSD frame of mind and acclimated to it's awesomeness, it is hard to understand this discussion. Once again I have the utmost respect for the other Rolex sport watches.

My issue with the DSSD was not the size of the case, it was lack of size of the dial. I have no problems wearing large watches (IWC 5005 and JLC Master Compresson World Alarm are both 46mm), but I also love going back to my GV and Speedy Pro, both at 40mm. Loved the DSSD, but certain aesthetics were lacking. Besides the proportionally small dial, I disliked the narrow bracelet which made it too top-heavy.

I don't tend to have that kind of problem. I go back and forth between larger and smaller watches without issue. In fact I like the variety.

It's usual to feel this way in my experience. Wear the heck out of it and don't worry about how you feel about your 40mm rolex. In time they'll be back in for you. I went through the exact same thing for about a year with the DSSD....i still enjoy larger watches when in the mood but more specifically panerai now. As has been said wear your watches for longer on rotation and enjoy variety.

I understand where you're coming from. After using the Deepsea I find difficulty adjusting to the smaller and lighter watches. But the discomfort usually lasts only a few minutes.

Although the DSSD is currently my most worn, switching to anything else is always a treat for variety!!

I'm the opposite. Im a pretty big guy and wore my DSSD for 3 years every day. I tried on and purchased a Sub C 2 months ago and haven't worn the DSSD since (well I put it on for about 4 hours). The thickness really started to get on my nerves. I seemed to hit it on everything. I don't care about beating it up but it just got annoying and it doesn't fit under my sleeves. Another thing that started bothering me was all of the unnessicary writing around the dial. It is a great watch but after getting the sub I don't know why I wore it everyday.

I am going to put both my SDs on sale, now that I have gotten the DSSD and ordered the GMT 2C. The SD just seems like a lady's watch and I hear a lot of hoopla about it but it can not hold water next to the DSSD. The era of the SD is over and so is my romance with it. It is way way overhyped compared to the DSSD. Only big modern ceramics for me from now on.
