problem with sub glidelock
Good evening fellow forumer, this would be my very first thread. I love rolexes and thru out the year that i join this great forum, i have collected quite a collection.
This morning i noticed one of my tt sub had a quite a scratch on the polished bracelet that look come from the glide lock mechanism. Has this problem quite common or this only happen because i missplaced it? I have been quite careful with this piece because its my first rolex. In fact i hardly worn it n has been sitting in the safe for months. I tried to clean it wih veraet watch spray n it didnt work. Thank you in advance for the enlighment. |

That's just the nature of the beast. Metal touching metal is gonna scratch. No one can see it and not much you can do about it but wear that beauty with pride, forget what you can't control, and enjoy.

Put a dab of Nano oil (synthetic lubricant, available on Amazon), wipe it off, and it will form a microscopic invisible coating (removable) on that surface. It comes with an injector and use a Q-tip to control where you want it. Comes in 2 weights I think. I use the 10w.
Just an idea. I personally live with my scratches, but I use Nano on luxury pocket knife blades and pivots. |

Thank you for the reply guys, i wouldnt mind the scrath n its barely visible anyway. I just thought if it is common to happen to other sub tt owner. For the wrist shot i thought i do one of the famous gerardo style shot
Ps: i know i havent taken out the stiker yet, out of all my rolexes, its the only one that still has stikers on it. Normally i peel the stikers within a week of purchase. |

That happens on all bracelets. Even the old folded ones. Metal on metal.

You can put some clear tape there. It'll be virtually invisible.

You won't usually see the scratched link since it will be tucked into the clasp.

The opposite side on the inside is really worn on mine compared to the wear in the area you are describing. I also have that on my sub but when the bracelet is closed it also rubs on the inside pretty bad! Can't imagine what the link will look like in 20 years haha!

While I agree with the comments Rolex should be able to make a bracelet that won't scratch ITSELF.
I have a small piece of tape on my Daytona to prevent the clasp from cutting a line on the first PCL. Not nearly good enough IMO.
