How long will it run

on a full wind, if it's not worn. 3days? 5 day? ....???

Gave my Dad my restored DJ, and he says it will sometimes stop when he takes it off at night.

I don't think it should, nor did it when I had it, before it was restored.

Also when pulling out the crown, there isn't the distinct "clicks", so resetting the date is finicky.... wasn't that way before either. Is this something it might self adjust? or will I have to return it?

Thank you for all opinions and advice

DJ Power reserve

On a full wind, it should run somewhere around 40 hours before it runs completely down and stops.

If it's worn each day, and the wearer is reasonably active, the natural motion of the wearer's wrist should keep it charged up sufficiently that it shouldn't run down at night, and as long as it's worn each day, it should keep going indefinitely.

If the wearer has a somewhat sedentary activity level, it might need to be re-wound by hand every couple of days or so to keep it from stopping.

Hope you enjoy the DJ - it's a classic!

Steve

It needs to be winded by hand.
I use to have the same problem... and i thought the watch was broken.
it just means that the watch was not winded all the way.

Chances are that your dad is just not active enough to wind it fully each day..

I'll bet that if he manually winds it every couple of weeks (40 winds), it will stay running......

I currently have six Rolexes and have done test run times on all of them with a full wind.

I wound them fully and set them down on a counter and let them run, without any further intervention.

Range of running time is between 41 hours to 47 hours.

Thanks everyone, we'll see how it works out.

My other concern on the pull-out stem not having "clicks" in the wind, time change and date change positions.... any comment of feedback here? Is this common? It's very fiddly to set the date.

Thanks!
