Either way looks good
Sadly, part of the "E" flaked off, nothing to be done unfortunately. This watch was rough as you see in the first image, worn by a pilot for 30 years and beat a good bit. From the photos Edvi emailed yesterday I have to say it is quite a resurrection, one I'll wear in rotation for awhile until I find one I like better. Ed

I'm thinking about sending my 1970 GMT Master to ABC Watchwerks, as it's about time for a service. The bevel on the lugs on my watch is basically gone, from wear. Is that really the correct amount of bevel for a watch of that age? I don't remember it being so much the last time Rolex serviced it (which has been a while: the last service was movement only, from a different independent).

It looks fantabulous. I would have had it polished, too.

I think the new crystal shows the dial clearly now. The print was left alone (there is some loss to lettering on SWISS and the E), the lume dot was replaced and color matched (some kind of voodoo that works, but I don't know how) and some lume dots cleaned and refreshed along with the lume replaced in the hands.

Detailed service work:

ROLEX 1675 BLK SN#2145483 HO

MOVEMENT SERVICE/OVERHAUL
MAINSPRING
GASKETS REPLACED
PRESSURE TEST
BALANCE STAFF
ROTOR AXLE
REPAIR DIAL MARKER
RE-LUME HANDS
CRYSTAL (ORIG)
CASE TUBE (SUPPLY/INSTALL)
REFINISH CASE (VINTAGE)
TWO YEAR WARRANTY ON MOVEMENT

...are you sure they returned the same watch ?????

Great job, I do not know the cost, but it was worth. Now you have an almost new looking watch and with some care, it will last you for another 30 years. Congrats
