Thinking about a Pam 537

I was walking around my local AD yesterday and have always enjoyed looking at panerai. None of them have ever really caught my eye enough for me to jump on and pull the trigger.

So long story short I was walking around and lo and behold I see a 42mm panerai, dial on it is absolutely gorgeous with the waffle finish and the strap combo is just stunning.

I am thinking long and hard about this one, my AD is willing to do 15% off haven't been able to talk them into more (yet).

Wondering what everyone in the Panerai forum thinks of the 537 and how it is for an everyday watch.

thanks again and if you have some pictures please post them =)

It's a nice dial, although I'm not a fan of the p/r being on the dial.

I had 535 cousin. As long as you are onboard with thickness (and all polish) they both are a beauty.

I like 42 mm Panerais, and I love the hobnail dial, but find the proportions of the 537 a bit off - too thick for the diameter IMO.

What dealer are you shopping at in MA?

I remember looking at one of these when on the hunt and I found the 42mm a bit too small in diameter for the thickness of the watch.

I'd have a look at the 233 as well. Whilst it's a 44mm, it wears smaller because of the domed crystal. It's also a Panerai icon.

The above notwithstanding, your wrist, your cash and your watch. It has to blow your skirt up, no one else's and if the 537 does it for you then knock yourself out. 15% is a tidy discount from an AD and certainly as far as the UK and Singapore go, you'd be lucky to get anywhere near that never mind better.

Good luck

For this set up, I'd go for the tuxedo dial of the 658. I prefer the hobnail on a base (like the 643).

I almost purchased it myself and still considering it. Love the dial and the strap color combo. At opned a 42mm 392 ans think you will live the fit and size. If I were to buy it I'd have the case brushed and keep the bezel polished. Then imo it would be perfect.

I will have to go back to the AD and check it out again and see what I think about the size and height of it while sitting on my wrist.

Overall I keep looking at pictures of it and find it beautiful. Who knows maybe an incoming will be arriving shortly.
