VC or JLC Opinions Please

The JLC was the unanimous winner versus the IWC choices in my last poll and I have to agree with the poll results. After trying on the pieces again, the JLC was much nicer. I have one more piece to compare it to before I pull the trigger and would like some opinions. Thanks!

JLC for me. Like some VC models but not a fan of that one.

The Quai de L'ile is such a unique and cool piece with fantastic finishings; but I personally like the looks of the JLC better.

VC!

Such a cool watch, the JLC is nice but for me the dial is too busy and it confuses me, it wants to be a dress watch but with that dial it can't be, and it can't play the sport watch.

The VC is awesome.

Hard to choose between the two since they are different types of watches. If from a strictly aesthetic perspective then it's purely subjective and I'd choose the JLC.

However, I'm not keen on and can't fully appreciate the "true beat" movement of the JLC and would prefer the VC.

I voted for the JLC last poll, of course .

I can't resist that VC. It's my favorite watch they make right now next to the 1921 American.

Difficult to compare as others have said, two very different watches.

I have no love for 95% of the modern VC lineup and the 5% I do I'm afraid to buy even in the grey or 2nd hand market as their values seem to go down like lead balloons (this is the 2nd most important consideration for me when buying today). Not that many JLC are better but at least for me JLC has a better hit ratio on my number 1 consideration (aesthetics, do I love what I'm looking at).

That's a long winded way of saying go with the JLC.

2 completely different watches. I don't particularly like the looks of that VC, the JLC is much nicer.

The Vacheron — not that I think it's all that spectacular, but just because JLC is so typographically clueless that they used Arial for the 24-hour ring and city names. :P

Thanks for all of the input. Some very good points from everyone n both pieces. I'll have to try them both on one more time and make a decision from there.

If I'm hung up and can't make a decision, I'm going to just get a Panerai 1312 just to scratch the immediate itch... :)

Much as I like JLC, I would have to go with VC on this one. I like the cleaner dial of the VC.

tough call

I have owned a quai, and have tried on the JLC. The JLC is beautiful in person, even more so in the rose gold.

I was thinking the same, the Overseas World time is my favorite world timer. Strangely usually I don't really care for the overseas bezel, but somehow with the world time, it just works. That being said, I assume this isn't really a option based on the price.

I still voted for the VC, I love the white dial.

Yup. Your observation is correct. At the price point of an Overseas World Time, I'd be looking at other choices and this thread would be a different discussion all together. Wifey has a close eye on my watch purchases lately.. lol. Need to keep the next one within a reasonable number.

Not particularly looking for a world timer, but just really liked the look of the JLC version.

What the hell are those screws doing on the JLC dial, big no no. Looks like a Chinese rip off.
