Zenith Love?

Been looking at the Zenith elite line. They have some great looking watches in precious metals.

What is the general opinion on Zenith Elite.

Thanks

I am quite interested in this model, a thin chronograph with a blue dial and a blue strap

The Elite movement is their in-house non-chrono movement and used in many of the models. My wife has a Zenith ladies Elite and it been very reliable. Also I haven't read anything bad about it.

That blue dialed chrono is really impressively elegant

Really nice watch. The white dialed one is no slouch.

I think they are great looking watches, with very well regarded movements.

Very under rated and a great Value. Jean Claude Biver just took over. Historically, when he takes over prices will begin to rise, so make your move.

My primary interest in watch collecting is the Zenith brand, and my collection reflects that. They have the history, horological expertise, and cost versus value that maintains my interest. I hope JCB at the helm will be good for the brand.

Above chrono would be my next watch if not for being a little too large

Check out the just announce zenith heritage 146...it's basically the hodinkee collaboration (wth a few tweaks) and is available in blue and brown. I was trying to convince myself to get comfortable with 42mm...now I don't have to

Close and love the size, but not the same as the OP

All of my Zeniths are 40mm or less. I try not to go past 42mm with my watches, although I have.

I think the Zenith brand is beautiful with some great designs and execution. With that said they are a line that must be significantly discounted at the point of purchase as the true value is much less than the MSRP. In the pre-owned market they can be purchased at low prices. Unless you have a unique and truly collectable model some of the TS will not trade for one. With all of that said I will still probably own one before I am through collecting.

Needless to say, other than your first sentence I don't agree with anything you have said. But then I am on a Rolex message board, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I just discovered Zenith brand - I really like the way they look. Also, I see discounts of up to 50% on some of their PM watches from grey dealers - very tempting

I am very partial to the older styles. Their newer pieces have gone the wrong direction for me.

I just picked up a Chronomaster XXT Open Date, discontinued model, but IMO far better design then any of their new lines.
