$800 for the outer clasp alone? Ouch! Sorry to hear that.

On a side note. I also took along my Daytona (SS) to get a quote for service. She is in good shape and keeping time well but it is 9 yrs old and I am not the first owner. Basic service $1,000. I found that high. 9/2014 I took in my Y serial Sub for a service and new bezel insert, that was $700 total. I assume maybe it is the complication and that is why the service is more, not real sure. I declined for now. I think I will go get some more patina on it first.

Sorry to see this. Glad you're ok, and I hope the service isn't too damaging to the pocket book.

Did you try putting the Hulk on your right wrist and falling the same way to the other side? Stranger things have happened!

All kidding aside quick trip for service and back good as new!

A little update.

So the Hulk is back. 8 bills later she is as good as new. Now I just need to be more careful in the rain.

On the Rik front and servicing my Daytona. I had a great convo with him. No go on the Daytona. Rolex has taken away ANYONE's ability to purchase OEM Rolex parts for the Daytona, GMT and I think he said the OP. He will not use after market parts (good for him) so I have no choice.

Interesting he also thinks it is because in the model that I have there was a bad bridge (whatever that is). He thinks that is why they won't let him work on them. the person can take their watch into RSC for service and they can swap that part out while servicing rather than recalling.

Off to enjoy the Hulk.

Interesting about the "bridge." Was he talking about the balance bridge in the movement, which would be odd since it has the 3135, or is he talking about some part called a "bridge" in the clasp??

In the movement. He said of the hundreds he has serviced only a couple have failed however that was the only thing he could think of as to why they would not allow any non Rolex person to purchase OEM parts for that watch hence they have to be sent in. Then Rolex could swap out the part while servicing.

Glad you are in one piece and glad the Hulk is back at it. Odd on the Daytona and Rik. That is my fear with a lot of these premium brands. They stop selling parts they have a bunch of newfound customers.

You should actually thank the Hulk & kiss the damaged 904L SS clasp for taking a blow for you .The clasp actually acted like a damping force to dissipate energy from a 20-25 pounds pressure impact & prevented you from sustaining a Colles fracture
