The roman numerals are nice but I think that the stick dial in blue is just amazing. The dark blue only comes with the sticks vs a lighter blue for roman numerals. I feel sometimes the roman numerals blue almost looks washed out. I made my decision with having them literally side by side.

Sticks represent a simple, clean, and timeless dial.
Romans signify an elegant dial.
Numbers denote a casual and more youthful dial.

Since you are currently wearing a Rolex Milgauss that has sticks, I would go for the Romans.

My first Rolex was a DJ 116234 with a blue stick dial. I initially thought the symmetry and simplicity of the stick dial was beautiful. But after a while I tired of the stick dial and wished I'd bought a roman dial, which I thought to be more elegant. Eventually I traded my stick dial DJ toward a diamond dial DJ for my wife. If I buy another DJ or a DD for myself it will have a roman dial.

I agonized over this exact situation for two months. I went back and forth, but in the end chose the darker blue with the sticks. I love both but thought darker blue with ghe sticks was a little more versatile and masculine. Purely preference, but it's a win win.....

Datejust ii with blue Roman dial

I chose the blue Roman dial....more elegant than the sticks, and closer to the platinum day date with ice blue dial. I traded my sea-dweller 16600 for it.

Sticks. I prefer lume do I can see the watch at night. Roman numerals on a precious metal watch only that you give rare wrist time to. It's your call but I feel like you're going to miss the lume when you want to see what time it is when you're driving or when you wake up in the middle of night excetera.

DJ - I'll take the romans. I think the sticks look too large.
DD - I'll take the sticks. Perfect size.
