Thoughts on this insert (1675)

There I was having a little browse indoors on a rainy sunday evening where I came across this 1675 with an insert I've never seen before

What's everyones thoughts on it? Is it rare possibly a prototype which was trialed and then pulled for the 1675 insert we see today?

As genuine this 1675 is, putting on such an awfully fake insert just destroys the watch.

That was a common aftermarket insert at one time. You do not see it much anymore.

I kinda like the type face, honestly. I'd have a real insert on that watch in 5 seconds, though, if it were mine.

I love how your knowledge of GMT's extends to an understanding of fake GMT's as well. Extraordinary.

I know I have been shouted down on this before but I am not convinced it is fake. I have seen this insert font on some GMTs as well as a corresponding 80s Gold Subs.

I had one member that no longer posts reach out to me a while back and insisted it was legit. It may be fake, it make not be fake - and I remain unconvinced either way. Printing looks legit under a loupe. One of the ones I had came in a lot of all very rare and nice Fat Font Sub and GMT inserts, Long5s, Fushia GMTs, Denims, Brown Fasts, Black Fats, etc.

One thing that did get me thinking was the usual fake inserts usually have thin fonts and this was a fat font but............ it seems the majority says fake. If it wasn't I'd imagine it would fetch a very tidy sum

It's really not about the majority. It is 100% not genuine.

I didn't mean to imply it could be genuine, bad wording
