Disappointed with RSC NY!!

So I just picked up my GMT from RSC NY and feeling a little pssed off now. Collected it just before they closed for the holidays and didn't notice until I got home but check out what they did to the case. Case is supposed to be polished during the service so this is poor workmanship but what's worse is that these marks weren't even there originally so they have caused these. Same marks on edges of every lug so suspect it was whatever was used to clamp the case. Anyway, it's going back the first day they open in Jan!!

Wow. Very sorry to hear that. But this would not be the first time RSC NY has allegedly done damage to a clients watch. I hope you get this resolved.

Somebody up there had a liquid lunch. That's terrible. Hopefully it will get resolved. Just don't do anything to it, leave it be and get it back up to them. I'm sure they'll make it right.

Very sloppy work and poor quality control. NY has lately been having some issues. I hope you get this resolved. I would also monitor it's timekeeping closely while you have it as well. I would not recommend the RSC in NY at this time.

Shocking...but not the first time we'be seen something lik this from RSC NYC. Put it away and forget it for now, don't let it spoil your Christmas.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I'm just surprised they are so slack with quality control especially since we associate the brand with perfection!! Anyway, as said I can't do lot about it right now and I'm sure they will make good as it's clearly down to them. Have a great Christmas all!!

They replaced a dial for me under warranty(lume was flaking). They did a free polish I didn't even ask for and made a huge dent in the case. In the end they replaced my case but I ended up flipping the watch because of the experience.

Where are the marks exactly ? I only see patches of dust. Workmanship at my local RSC is equally bad

Brutal hack job. It looks like the fixture wasn't all the way tight and the case moved while pulling the back.

Exactly. Looks like dust, or adhesive. Hard to see straight on but at the right angles they are obvious. Must be clamp damage as that would explain why it appears near every lug.

That is typical NY RSC craftsmanship.

Good news! You should feel lucky, I've seen much worst first hand. So many people have rung the bell here and on other forums, but sadly no one heeds the warning.

Indeed. Just look at all the responses saying an RSC is the only way to go. They're a highly tuned servicing "factory", designed for max throughput - not craftsmanship.

I'd use an RSC for two reasons:
1) warranty work
2) to create provenance where none exists

Otherwise, you can get similar quality work for less or better quality work for similar money.

I believe it's not new for RSC, also heard some bad experience in my place. People makes mistakes but hope RSC will give a good solution to resolve it to satisfy their customers.

What a joke. I agree with those that say put it aside and deal with it once they open. Enjoy the holidays!

What I find disturbing is everything that exits a RSC has to go through quality control, someone is supposed to be physically inspecting the final work. Apparently that is not happening.

Enjoy the holidays. They'll make it right but I'd be pissed too.

I had a bad experience in 2015 at RSC NYC too.

I brought my Milgauss in to get a piece of dust removed under the crystal and when they returned the watch too me the bracelet was put on incorrectly. When I told them they immediately corrected it but then put some new scratches in the lug mark area.

It was a 1 week old watch I bought at the boutique downstairs!
