My dear TOG

This morning I saw a guy who really likes my TOG with a Submariner on his wrist. Suddenly thinking about Rollies, checked around and found out that my TOG has been discontinued.

More than 10 yrs, my TOG has been with me and experienced all: up & down, smiles & tears, successes & failures, oceans & mountains, forests & deserts; even cheated dealth few times.

Men, love my TOG soooooooooooooooooooooooo muchhhhhhh. When I leave this earth, nobody will be with me except my TOG.

After approx. 4 thousands days, I did forget my wallet a few times but never once with my TOG on my wrist whenever I step out.

Now, cuz of the discontinuation, my beloved TOG is timeless and invaluable. Chicks, fame, material & money are nothing if compared to my TOG :).

Has anyone got the same feeling with your Rollie?

I really like my watches. They bring me a great deal of enjoyment but in the end they are just that watches don't lose sight of what things really matter in life. That said glad you enjoy your TOG, it is a great watch.

I figured it out. The tog is a measure of thermal resistance of a unit area, also known as thermal insulance.

TOG is a turn-o-graph; any Rolex enthusiast should know that. They are great watches and I'd love one in my collection. I can well understand the closeness that one has for a great watch. No need to call someone a troll. Perhaps a mirror might be consulted.

As I checked around few hours earlier, I saw this:

https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...n-o-graph.html

Wanted to put down some lines there, then I remember this place which I had been posted regularly more than 10 yrs ago.

When a certain feeling arises, it's always nice to think about the past, especially about the things/places/people etc... that gave us fond memories.

That is the reason why :).

Not a lot of conceptual capability if that can't be figured out, imho. Give the guy a break. First post and danders up and looking for blood. That term gets used with fair regularity here. Why is it only the new guys get picked on for using it.

SoloTOG, welcome and thanks for posting about your TOG!!! Can you post a photo or two?

Yeah, I had a good laugh at those proclaiming troll and questioning the term TOG.

The TOG is a cool watch. I like the older ones in particular.

Really I assure you I know what it meant (fun sarcasm). I really don't think I was "looking for blood" with the OP, rather it was more like I was "having fun with him".

Truthfully, I don't see many "serious" Rolex people here on TRF using the term either

I did not invent the term. Back then, "Rollie" was used regularly here along with "Rolex". Personally, I like it and it sounds cool such as Beemer etc...

10-yrs represents a mark of another generation with tons of differences (maybe). Still, I like "rollie" instead of "rolex".

Is Rolex itself has different models of Rollies? :)

Sure, Lee. Will do that in couple days and hopefully I still remember how to post pictures :). Thanks much.

To Lord Trace & others, it's all cool with me. Sometimes it's fun to mess around with new babe but in real life, 2 kids call me Grandpa already.

I'm not old and don't look old though. In fact, contradictory, chics tell me that I look guapo all the time when they see my TOG :).

Good lord, the TOG was the first Rolex with a rotating bezel predating the sub. Here's my '68, I like it but not quite like the OP does his, :)

Ah, the good old TOG...a classic sports watch before all sports watches became Flavor Flav-orized such that even the Sub became "small". Great watch, I can see why you're thrilled with it!

That is awesome. I am happy you found your perfect watch. I feel the same way about my GMT, I never go anywhere without it on my wrist.

If you have photos, share em!

Looking forward to the pictures.

FWIW, the term "rollie" carries some disdain amongst some members. I have no idea why, and I'm reasonably certain they don't know why either, but it is a bandwagon that people jump on occasionally to show how superior and "in the know" they are.

Hulk, Batman, Kermit, Smurf, Yatty, Rollie... They are all pseudonyms. Use if you like, ignore if you like. But don't throw shade at another member if they use them.

Agreed. Everyone picks on users who say Rollie, but nobody seems to think twice when we call a 116610 LV a hulk, etc. At the end of the day as long as the original poster means well, is courteous and contributes something nice to the forum, I don't care what they call their watches.
