Thoughts on the DJ with smooth bezel/oyster bracelet?

Previously I really liked these DJ models, but I just went to the AD over lunch and this time I didn't like it as much. Something just felt a bit disjointed. Found myself much preferring the "traditional" fluted bezel/jubilee DJs.

I felt like the smooth bezel/oyster bracelet combo worked much better with the Explorer or OP.

What are your opinions on that particular model of DJ?

Don't care for that combo at all.

For me, DJ has to be fluted with a jub.

Not a jubilee fan....Fluted bezels are nice, but an oyster bracelet and a smooth bezel....The elegance is in the simplicity.

I think it works...to my mind, the smooth bezel/oyster combo has a "sportier" look and feel.

They're ok in pictures but in the flesh the fluted bezel is nicer in my opinion.

To me it looks a lot like an Explorer case-wise

It's my favorite combo for the DJ. Second would be the engine turned bezel with jubilee bracelet.

I think both Oyster and Jubilee work but either way, the DJ needs a fluted bezel. Same with DD. Save the plain bezel for the Expy.

That's the best Datejust combo, IMO.

Smooth bezel DJ is one of the classiest, understated, dress up / dress down watches ever.

It's fantastic.

i think fluted
recently flipped my blnr for a dj2 with wg fluted bezal and gorgeous dark blue dial that goes many different shades of blue, purple, black,,,perfect fit,,,everyday beater but good for all occasions ,,i tried one on in schipol airport before xmas and fell in love,,,,,
blnr although a beauty i just felt the bezal seemed very large imho ,,
In moments of passion my wifes hair would get entangled ,,,,,
i post some pics of the dj2,,,,,ticks all boxes for me,,,,,full set and totally mint even when using a loupe,,,,,,jay

A smooth-bezel DJ with an oyster bracelet is a great combo, but it might look better on vintage models for some reason. Here's my DJ from '79.

If we're talking the new DJ41 (currently only in 2-tone), then I prefer the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet combo. Not a fan of the 41mm DJII in any form. Otherwise the smooth bezel & oyster braclet 39mm Explorer I and 39/36mm OP/DJ work for me. Just my humble opinion. Cheers!

I'm a huge fan! In my opinion, it's an especially great look for a younger person.
