1986 Rolex Explorer 2 ref. 16550 Polar White, Vivid Yellow Patina

Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer 2

16550 reference with square font insert.

R27X,XXX serial number circa 1986 production.

Excellent vintage condition case that has previously been polished. No dings, dents, or deep scratches. Thick, beveled lugs and thick and even crown guards. Serial number and reference numbers are intact and fully legible.

Original white dial with long Coronet and very vivid yellow patina. The hands have been relumed to match the dial markers by LA Watchworks. Under a certain angle, very close up, there is a light drag on dial. Its nearly impossible to see by naked eye, but its disclosed.

Original bezel with nicely defined sunburst finish and bevels.

Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.

Bracelet is Rolex 78360 with 13 links, 501 ends, K11 date stamp which is correct for the watch. Very minor stretch.

No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch winds smoothly and runs at +5 seconds with ~280 amplitude.
