Rolliworks turnaround time

Anyone know what the turnaround time for a rivet repair generally is? They've had a 7206 of mine close to 2 months and it keeps getting pushed back.

They told me 4 weeks and it took 7.

Rolliworks turnaround time

If it’s a part time outfit (side gig) I assume 3 X 4 times as long as quoted. Think shade tree mechanic…

Full time outfit, 2 X quoted time is about normal if you ask me. It’s very easy to under estimate your current workload.

It will get done.

Most recently, they estimated 3-4 weeks and it took about 10 weeks. When I followed up, Ivy told me they had some staffing issues. Not really an issue for me as long as they are responsive. In my experience, you need to be patient when it comes to repairs with watches and accessories, especially vintage. It's more important that it's done well, than done quickly.

Thanks all, was just wondering if this was the norm. Now that I know that it is, not a problem. Cheers all

They have many more issues than staffing issues - contrary to those that have had positive reviews for them. Be careful.

Staffing issues would bother me for something like vintage watch repair. Are they missing an experienced watchmaker or a front office clerk?

Well it's just a bracelet, not a watch so not as concerned for that for me!

It still takes a competent and trained worker to rebuild a bracelet. It isnt a DYI type project. It requires training, special tools and knowhow. It isnt "Just a bracelet". If it is, send it to me and ill have it back to you in 2-4 weeks guaranteed! but there are no guarantees that it will be a great job since its "just a bracelet" and you arent concerned for that.

Yes, but I mean that in the sense that I don't have issues with waiting for it and inherently a bracelet can be repaired whereas if you damage a vintage watch, you most likely lose that value forever. That's what I mean by "just a bracelet."

I'm not concerned with staffing issues since Mike owns the shop and does in fact do repairs himself, even if it means there is a delay.

Just to clarify, I did get the bracelet back and was happy with the job that Mike did. This is the third bracelet he has rebuilt for me, all rivets.

16 weeks.

I mean, months. 16 months.

To be fair, it was during Covid times, but…yeah. It sucked.

A bracelet was involved, but some case work, too. It was just a very frustrating experience with not the best communication.

Sent my watch to them the first week of July and just got it back yesterday, Nov 2. Ivy and Michael both communicated with me throughout and about the delays so no complaints there.

Slightly ironic, because I believe I recall them telling me that staffing problems were one of the problems they were moving from California to Miami. Of course, such problems are widespread these days.

Brought in 3 pieces to him down here in Miami. Two bracelets repairs and one caseback that needed laser welding. Was told 3 weeks was closer to 6 weeks but considering these were low dollar jobs understood they were not a priority. So not a big deal to me and all work was done expertly so was very happy with Mike.

Yep yep. I just got my bracelet back, fantastic work it’s tight as can be. I will say the estimate was 4 weeks and ended up being ~9? So definitely longer but the quality is impeccable.

I’ve sent my 5513 to Phillip Ridley and Drew Zimmerman for service and case restoration. It’s a West and East coast project. Promised completion and return to me is 8 weeks.
