A Timeless Tale

Recently a friend wrote an article on his blog about the very first european Rolex Boutique in Berlin (Germany) having the most important timepieces by Rolex on display.

Together with three friends (dutch Rolex forum) I went to Berlin yesterday.

Jiff picked me up at 3am and after Vendenbroek and Frankster joined we headed for Berlin.

We noticed sunrise is early these days, here passing Eindhoven.

We saw a lot of bikes including this one stopping at the same gasstation.

Tnx to Jiff's hightech navigation and timing devices we found our way to Berlin flawlessly ;)

Just about 11am we finally arrived in Berlin!!

We parked our car and went looking for Rolex and shortly after found Kurfürstendamm 184!

First thing we noticed was a 116520 on display!

And this one.. Purrrrrr...

We went inside and found a small room in the back with the very impressive collection of Rolex watches through time. Every single piece close to perfection giving the age of the watches.

We weren't allowed to take pictures so we took some with our phones.
Like they say; better a bad pic then no pic at all!

The very first Rolex 'armbanduhren' from the beginning of 1900.
There actually was one loaded with suger which we didn't get on photo.

Submarine (without the R) from the 20's

The very first Oyster's!

Golden Oyster Perpetual Datejust on Jubilee and the first Lady Oyster Perpetual

The original Deepsea! Looks weird on a riveted bracelet

DayDate and Milgauss

Turn-O-Graph and Submariner

And the Sir Edmund Hillary's watch on the left...... WOW!

On the way out we spotted the new Tudor Heritage, Explorer and 'The Hulk' which really looks amazing! Far better then on any picture i've seen so far!

Here's 'Marine One' after introducing it to the complete history of rolex!

Next we went for a walk around (a small part) of Berlin.

We spotted this watch wondering who would buy one??

Some more pics of the afternoon in Berlin.

Looking for a drink, this is not the place to go to (called nutsack)

Finally we went home around 4pm.

Sunday morning I finally got home from this impressive ± 23 hour and 1900+ km (aprox. 1190+miles) trip.

Still have to read 'Marine One' before I send it to Jocke...

Tnx for reading!

Grtz!

Wow!!!

What an INSANE roadtrip!

Thanks so much for posting these pics. The camera phone shots were still cool as you were able to document some extraordinary pieces.

I have yet to make it to Berlin...

Much appreciated!
