ALS is King in Germany ..... and not inferior to the well known Swiss watch brands.

Glashutte Original's second place is getting closer IMO as they create these wonderful movements, like the 100 series
This is my calendar week. 475 parts 71 jewels and a centrifugal brake for the week change 52 to 1

Third place is a lot more difficult.

Dornbluth are great. I love mine

But I am not sure they make enough of a range to qualify.
Nomos it has to be said get better and stronger ever year and are seriously biting at the heels of GO. Maybe I would place them third.

Tutima, Muhle, Chronoswiss, Sinn and many others seem also to make some fine watches.

May as well throw in the relevant movements

Tim, that GO is stunning!

Another interesting German (designed) brand is MeisterSinger. Their watches have a single hand and time is measured in 5 minute increments. The watches are actually Swiss made to MeisterSinger specs. Still worth a look.

I think the G.O. movements are quite attractive....

And the adjustable bracelet is nice too.

Nothing wrong with them. They are just kind of average. I don't think they are in the conversation with Patek.

Not up to the same level as ALS or GO but I'm a big fan of the Union Glashutte I have. Great piece for the price.

I'm not a huge fan of VC as a whole, but they definetly deserve their place up their with the likes of Patek. I used to feel the same way until I did some research on them and learned what a great company it is and what great pieces and movements they are capable of making. Check out the Tour de I'lle to see a masterpiece.
