'Tamper-Lock'?
Fellas, I'm mainly a lurker, but read most articles on the Forum. Thanks for a great place to learn and some excellent pics. Not sure if any of you read 'Watch Snob', but I was wondering if this thing he mentioned called 'Tamper-Lock' is real or one of his little jokes. Please see below for his comment, and then the link to the Q&A section it's lifted from. Cheers.
"Mess with Rolex at your own peril. Do you really think it’s that easy to pull this off? Rolex has created a little-known complication known as “Tamper-Lock.” This detects if the watch has been opened by an unauthorised person or any non-approved parts have been added. Even though this voids the warranty immediately, Rolex built in additional punishment: the watch will stop running six months later." http://au.askmen.com/fashion/mens-wa...g-a-rolex.html |

Tongue firmly in cheek. Customization of any product usually voids the warranty, but in the end it's YOUR watch, do with it as you wish. Just be prepared to live with the changes.
