New Warranty Card Style

Attached are the images of how the Warranty Cards will be changing to in the next few months.

The images are from a 116710 BLNR (Blue Black)

You will notice now that on the warranty cards from overseas they have the dial and bracelet code on the front

Rolex has now put the country code to the back of the card with the AD name and the space for the buyers information

Rolex also prints on the card how to write the date of purchase

You will also see what appears to be a information strip at the back of the card. I am told when the watch is sold they now have to swipe this card to register with Rolex (I am not 100% sure on this as I have not seen it done)

I came upon this discovery today so for now this is all the information I have. As I get any more Information I will update

Regards
DavidSW

Don't quote me on that my friend

Looks that way but until I see it done and the process I can't be 100% sure

Thanks Dave, good stuff.

By the way, are these new watches safe to take in the shower or on travel to Europe? ;-)

This doesn't surprise me. If this is the case, Rolex won't be the only brand to be incorporating Electronic Registration Systems at AD's worldwide. The best part, for AD's, is that it would allow for, eventually, no more need to fill anything out on the warranty card itself, simply input the information into the reader, swipe the card, and the warranty is activated anywhere in the world on the date the watch leaves the store. If it's returned, swipe the card again to deactivate the warranty, and no more needing to order a replacement card from Rolex and waiting a month with an unsalable watch.

Nifty idea.

There is a place to write in the buyers name so if they return it you will still need a new card as the previous owners name is on the card

Thanks for posting. I have seen that Breitling is going to a similar electronic registration system.

David - very useful information - hope this can be a sticky soon.

Or perhaps a new Reference Library item called "Rolex Warranty Credentials over time"? That could help TRF'ers spot phony papers/cards by seeing images of "correct" credentials for different eras.
