41mm Day Dates/Datejust on smaller wrist.
Ive been eyeing the classified here and I'm contemplating picking up a datejust 2 as an everyday wearer, but the 41mm size and the size of my wrist has me worried a bit. My wrist is 6 1/2in and honestly, I'm a little hesitant because I don't want the watch to overpower my wrist. My question is would a 41mm look out of place on a wrist my size? Ive never tried on a datejust 2 and my AD is a good ways away from me do im basicaly stuck with a "blind buy" per say. Are there any experienced members here that can shed some light on this situation who've handled the new 42mm with a similar wrist size.

My wrist is the same size as yours and the watch fits perfectly.

That's exactly the DJ2 I'm going for! It looks great!! Me personally I like my watches a little snug (not tight) and was wondering if you had to remove any links or did it fit perfectly right out of the box. I apologies if I'm asking too many questions.

6.5 inch wrist here and no problems whatsoever ,,, i even have a 47mm panerai that always get positive remarks so i guess you should be ok with a 41mm DJII ..
IMO you need to try one for yourself before pulling the trigger |

If you have a ROUND 6.5" wrist then I'll suggest getting the 36mm.. unless you like huge gaping holes between lugs and side of wrist.
For me, 48mm lug/lug length is the absolute maximum.. sweet spot is 44 to 46mm |

Well, first off, I would make the trip to the AD to do some trying on for yourself...nothing we can tell you will substitute for that experience.
To answer your question, I don't think you are going to be overpowered. I personally like the larger size, and I have a smaller wrist. I was a 36mm wearer for many years, but when the 41mm version came out, I've never looked back. |

41 was honestly way to big on me. 6.25 here. 36 is perfectly proportioned.

Just under 6.5 here and I wear a SS Daytona every day...
No problem at all... I too was skeptical about wearing a larger watch, especially with a bracelet band, but it felt perfectly normal after the second day. I did have to adjust a couple of shirts with too small cuffs. Go for it. Cheers, |

I don't think it will be too large. It's a personal choice though. I thought it may have been to big on me and tried to DJ and DJii. The DJ just seemed undersized.

Large watch makes a small wrist look wimpy. That watch covers your wrist from side to side. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and I think datejust II is to big for me. Just my opinion and most will probably not agree.

6.5 inch wrist. Flat. Been my daily for about 2 months now. No problem at all. My favorite watch by far. You need to go try one on. Go to an AD and try one on and buy one from TRF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Definitely sportier looking. Depends what you want in a DD or DJ I suppose.

6.3 inch wrist here. Tried on the DJII in both SS/WG (white dial) and TT (black arabic dial), but felt too large both times. Also tried on the DDII once, in WG, but it also felt too bulky for my thin wrist. If those watches were more sporty than elegant, then I might be able to pull them off. But as elegant sports watches, a smaller diameter works best, even these days of oversized watches. I've felt the 36mm DDI and the 37mm Patek 5146 much more proportional to my wrist.
BTW, I can pull off many 39 to 42mm sports watches, but only if they're strictly sports watches. Such examples are the classic AP Royal Oak, Sub-C, GMT IIC, Daytona, Breitling Colt II Quartz, JLC Master Compressor Diving Automatic Navy SEALs, and Speedy Pro "Moon Watch". Of course that's just me, with a slightly thinner wrist than yours. When I used a bit more heavy (+26 kilograms than now), I used to have a 6.6-6.7 inch wrist. Back then I was able to pull off a bit more watches than now, like 43 or 44mm Breitlings. But now I try to stick to smaller watches which look more proportional. In your case, I'd definitely stick to trying the DJII on before purchasing it. Getting it blindly is quite risky IMHO, especially since you already have reservations about how would it look on your wrist...

My taste for watches tends towards the larger side. DJ2 is right size for me at 41mm. Wrist size 6.75". I think it looks just right. Others might disagree

Agree if you have flat wrists then your wrist size should be fine but if not then it will probably look big, and Rolex is one brand you do not want to wear with an oversized watch as it will come across as you just trying to show off that you have a Rolex. Breitling is another where you need a watch fitting you perfectly to avoid negative connotations.

36mm is big enough for a dress watch. Actually it is more like 39mm if you measure it. The proportions of the DJII seem to be off.
