Vintage Rolex Oysterdate Precision 6694/0 - Year? Other information?

I'm hoping someone can help me learn more about my Rolex. It was given to me by my father more than 20 years ago. The bracelet and crystal were replaced about 15 years ago. The watch is currently with Rolex getting a complete service. Below is the information Rolex documented on the service agreement.

Model: 6694/0 Rolex 34mm SS Oyster Date, polished bezel
Dial: Black w/g markers L
Bracelet: 78350 SS Oyster
Links: 5 x 7
End Piece: 557
Case Serial: 586495
Caliber: 1215

Specifically, I'd like to know when the watch was produced. The existing year charts and the resetting of the serial numbers by Rolex are confusing. Additionally, I'm seeing contradicting information online (e.g., Tourneau is selling a 1948 6694/0 model, but one of the TRF members stated that the Oysterdate model made its first appearance in 1952). And I can't seem to find other visual references that look like my watch (e.g., black dial, arrow markers).

I'd also like to know if there is a difference between models "6694" and "6694/0".

Any other information available is appreciated. Thanks!

Any feedback?

New to the message boards and am wondering if I violated any protocols with my inquiries.

Your watch dates to about 1960 by the SN and style of dial and hands. I tend to use the dating chart on this site, which I find pretty reliable for the 1950s forward: http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/numbers.html. The bracelet is of course much newer than the watch.

6694/0 is just the full model number. the "/0" part means it's stainless steel.

Icon1 Vintage Rolex Oysterdate precision Rose Gold Plated

I came across this very unique watch, Rose Gold 20 microns plated Rolex 6694, 17J Oysterdate Precision. Any one have more information about this watch, dial has Arabic numbers, the bracelet is stretchable, movement 1210.
What it is worth? Any input will be appreciated.
