Icon20 FS: Rare 1968 Omega Speedmaster Transitional 145.022 Applied Logo

For your consideration is an incredible example of the very rare transitional 145.022 Applied logo vintage Speedmaster. A true collector's example!

Dial: Original applied logo stepped dial (Mint condition, perfect patina)

Hands: Original luminous hands in mint condition with matching patina.

Bezel: Original dot over 90 (DON) bezel

Crown: Original signed Omega crown

Case: Unpolished case with thick original chamfers

Caseback: Original unpolished Hippocampus case-back stamped 145.022 / 68.

Bracelet: Original 1039 bracelet with original 517 end links stamped 3/69. (normal to be one year after case-back date)

Serial engraving: 27325361 (Transitionals should fall between late 26-early 28 million serial)

Movement: Original early .861 movement

Period correct Omega Speedmaster box with Omega issued archive papers. The service history is unknown but the movement is super clean. The watch is currently winding smooth and running well. Chronograph starts, stops and resets correctly.

Notes: For your consideration is an incredible example of a rare transitional Omega Speedmaster 145.022. Only made for a very short period of time (slightly over a year or less) when Omega was transitioning between references, movements and dials (145.012-145-022). This is what I like to call the best of both worlds as you get the exact look of the prior Speedmaster with the applied logo, long luminous indices, wide "T swiss made T" marking and the dot over 90 bezel without the headache of dealing with the .321 movement that is difficult to service and maintain compared to the reliable .861 movement. Everything is all original minus the NOS correct Omega logo crystal that was installed (original crystal will be included). Comes with Omega archive papers that show that this reference falls into the correct serial range to be a true transitional 145.022. This one is truly a collector's example and you would be hard pressed to find another like it.

Price: $9200.00 by bank wire. Fedex shipped and fully insured. For international shipping please ad $30.00.
