Rolex Gold Yachmaster or a 71 Cuda? Whats your take

I have an all gold 40mm Yachtmaster new condition but rarely worn-and gold prices are up /
I now have the ooprtunity to buy a sweet 1971 340 Cuda with a shaker hood for $35k/muscle car prices are down-
Should I sell the Rolex to help fund the Cuda buy? What would you do? I can always buy another Rolex! Cudas like this are few and far between/

I say get the Cuda too.

Rolex are dime a dozen but Cuda's are not and especially if collectors car are going down, better pick one up.

Which one you want more?

IMO I would keep the watch. Though the Cuda is nice, a 340 Cuda is not really a "rare" muscle car such as a Hemi or 440-six-pak Cuda. and I predict prices for the less rare models of muscle cars to keep dropping in price as demand is less and supplies(choices) are more.

It costs more to store and insure a classic car than it does a watch. If you plan to keep the car because you like it then I say go for it. If you're doing it as an investment then be sure to factor in the added costs.

The car will need registration, insurance, oil changes, tune ups, and other maintenance expenses.

The YG YM will have to be sold (not the best of resale values) in a tough economy.

I love cars more than watches, but being objective it's clear that keeping the watch makes more sense.

Good luck with this tough decision.

I'm a 1971 Duster 340 Mopar guy, who wishes he never got rid of it. If you got the storage, get the car!
I don't know if you go to the small town car shows but old classic Mopar is getting rarer and rarer.
I've gone through a dozen cars since I was sixteen and the only one I wish I still had was the '71 Duster 340 at 16 years old.

True, but it's still a heck of a lot more rare than most muscle cars you see, like Camaros and Mustangs. I rarely see any Mopar vintage stuff on the roads.

I say nab the Cuda.

Cuda! If you want to discuss price and value, my husband and his good friend could tell you what the best deal on the car would be. Feel free to email me and I can give you the phone numbers. My friend has about 18 cars and many are vintage Mopar. My husband is a car expert and has been an insurance adjuster, car salesman, car collector, car parts manager and he is a Car Idiot Savant (CIS) like most of us are WIS. My husband's employer is a big vintage Mopar collector and races....

My email is keschete@yahoo.com

If your looking at Mopar another alternative may be new. I saw a new Dodge Challenger at a local car show and what a sharp car it was. Dark red metallic, sport kit, not bad and if you want muscle, they have a hemi option that would probaly knock the crap out of 99% of the factory muscle cars out there.

Guys- Thanks for all the replies I am still working on the Cuda deal -but

What do you think the YG YM should sell for in the Los Angeles area?

Also I have always had Rolexs but recently started wearing an Ocean7 LM7 Proplof with the Omega mesh band-looks kind of retro yet different-anyone else into these?

I would take the Cuda but be sure it is all original and all the numbers match. You don't want a clone. Look for lots of documentation. Previous owners , receipts etc.
