Today I bought this 6609 18k serial number 32xxxx with 18k bracelet marked 4 58 from a friend. He said he had it serviced 10 years ago by Rolex and never took it out of the safe again. Pie pan dial marked -T SWISS T-.

How Rare is this? to be in this condition

Dial and hands appear to be authentic Rolex, but are not original to the watch. Probably were replaced at a service. Would have originally come with dart or valentine indexes and dauphine hands I believe. Don't know about the band.

Look up 6609 on chrono24 and you'll find several 6609 examples with asking prices. 18k version is worth more on gold content alone. I'm a fan of the TOG/thunderbirds, but they are generally not one of the more highly collected references and prices generally reflect that. Non-original dial and hands will affect value as well.

Agree with the previous comment. Service dial, service hands. The band look OK to me.

Cannot tell from the scans - is the 6609 Rose gold or Yellow gold?

By far, the most expensive part of this watch is the band.

I have 6609 in yellow gold, love the watch, but it's not that expensive. My guess is about $3,o00 to $3,500 for the head (assuming yellow) and $5,000 if rose.

I think it's all been said and I agree. The band looks good also.

Watch looks great. I've got a late 50's tt that looks about like this one. I would not expect to find a D-link bracelet on such an old watch. A gold t-bird is, by no means, common, and makes a great, gold watch, IMO.
