I wouldn't say rare or collectible. It's something that you won't see in large numbers though. So you won't see them everywhere you go, like you do with the black ones...

Probably not as much as current collectable vintage models due to many more on the market and many more people than in the past keeping them to attempt to make money.

I think the watch has completely run out of gas. The last two times I have been to an AD both had the green LV in stock and no Black sub in stock. I would look to the older lv or the discontinued Sea Dweller for collectabillity.

Btw the 50th anniversary sub is the green bezel, black dial. The hulk is not an anniversary edition.

No modern day Rolex produced since the late 1980s could be considered rare or really collectible to a serious Rolex collector, although some made in smaller numbers. And would doubt if any will reach the high prices of the vintage Rolex watches far too many around today..Now if you want to own a real rare Rolex watch try finding one of the left hand wind Rolex now they are a rare Rolex watch.

Doubtful...but still a special Sub in my eyes.

No.

The value will likely rise as it loses value to inflation and Rolex continues to pump prices higher which drags older pieces along with it.

I have one, you need to wait to have it in most of the case in France, however, cannot be consider as rare.
if you look for rare watch, or you go for ref before the eighties or you go for small production period like the GMT 16760 (5 years only)

I'm not a really big fan of the 116610LV... I don't like the facelift of the recent subs and I have a feeling that this model no. will never really become a succes.

I would stick to the 16610LV instead

Just my opinion

Yes in Geneva. i need to wait at least 2 weeks to get the HULK. they say it is a good selling watch better than the black one. they have the black one available any day in any shops. but not for HULK

10 yrs from now you will break even if you bought it brand new from an AD.
Nothing modern is collectible. Rolexes are mass produced watches that keep their value well.... that's about it...don't dream too much into them...

Mmmmm probably not a collectible not in the near future anyway. But the case shape change in 2010 I believe is not universally popular ? so if Rolex tweak the shape they may become a little rare ? this would change things ! It may be unlikely but not an impossible thing to happen. The yearly price increase alone which Rolex dictate ensures values will be strong an instant profit is unlikely but if you buy right you could gain a return in around 5 years. I got an M serial 2008 16610 LV for £2100 I sold it in October 2012 for £3900.00 this was a cheap LV try getting an unmarked 2008 LV in great shape for less than £5000.00 now ? The thing to do is enjoy whatever you buy wearing a Rolex is a good thing enjoy it !!

Not collectible or rare.

On a recent trip to Liverpool two AD's tried to feed me some rubbish about them being rare. I was waiting for my gf to finish shopping and walked into an AD and pretended I knew nothing about watches. The rubbish these guys spout. "No chance of a discount on the green one mate. It's so hard to get and it's a really rare Rolex". I never really intended to buy it so walked away. When I got home I checked online and found a few 2013 models with 10% off from well known grey dealers. Could probably get more if you offered cash.

Rolex are gonna make so many of these watches. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy one because they are nice, but if you are buying to make a "Newman Daytona" profit then you are going to be very disappointing.

I don't know to much about grey dealers ? I got 13% off a 116610 LV from my AD this march. Personally I would develop a relationship with your AD and get a UK 160 Watch or a watch supplied in your country for the difference in what could be a Watch from Saudi or anywhere else in the world in my eyes its not worth it. Resale of a genuine UK supplied watches seem to be easier to achieve along with a better price.

The ceramic 116610LV is just a green sub. I think your confused.

Highly doubt it unless it is discontinued which is also not likely. Rolex has not discontinued other references that are much less popular.

just curious since 116610LV is not rare and is not special edition and is not limited then why it is priced higher than the 116610LN ?

Rolex uses a special formula to produce the green pigment in the ceramic bezel to match the exact Rolex trademark green.

Have a great day all!

Indeed as most discontinued watches do as they age and their numbers steadily decrease. In addition the ones that do exist age and their conditions become less pristine so those in the best condition become more valuable for any particular model.

Such has been the case with another green Rolex. The 16610LV.

Not rare, and not really collectable, but either is a nice one to have. Watches are generally not a good investment, just buy what you want to wear. In 10 yrs time, it's likely the condition of the watch which will determine it's value more than whether it's a green or the 'normal' black sub.

Considering the market for the 16610LVs, it’s not that crazy of a comment.

When I wear mine, I notice double takes on it quite a lot.

My SD4k doesn’t get any looks, but it’s price keeps slowly going up with less available.
