hi guys...just happened to see this auction on the bay (http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-TUDOR-MONTE-CARLO-BIG-BLOCK-CHRONOGRAPH-94300-MINT_W0QQitemZ360138110489QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWrist watches?hash=item360138110489&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1326%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)

Is this watch that hard to get.....?...also..excuse my ignorance...but,do tudors come with a coronet on the crown and a caseback which says rolex ?

My Tudor has the Rolex crown and it says this on the caseback: "Original oyster case by Rolex Geneva." Not sure about the rarity of that Tudor, though. Anyone else?

Yes, this is quite a rare Tudor Monte Carlo with the Newman dial. This one is a 94300. These Tudors and the 94200, 94210, 94300, 79170, 79160 79180, "Big Blocks" all came with the Tudor crown and Caseback. The 94200 and 94210 both came with a Tudor band. This is a good looking watch, but without papers and box, which would make it worth even more.

Yes, these Monte Carlos are fairly rare and bring a nice price on the market. As previously stated all of these have the Rolex crown and caseback and even bracelets marked Rolex rather than Tudor.

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7605/img1418t.jpg Yes and that dial even more. Most you see have the gray dial with the home plate hour markers with 2 registers

There's a nice-looking example listed at this highly respected Tokyo vintage Rolex/Tudor dealer for the equivalent of USD 8,000 with no box/papers (no affiliation other than happy customer status):

its expensive and harder to find than many tudor chronos. i dont like to use rare when they are easily found on ebay. very nice and desirable watch !

But of course! The 7031 and 7032 are amazing! They are much more money as they are far more desirable as well as very hard to come by in mint condition--the way we like them Uncle! That black dial extremely rare!

I also love this one my friend: 7032/0 w early pushers in fantastic condition. Again the thread from the dead keeps on going!:rofl:

unfortunately that black baby belongs to a friend of mine ( box & paper too ...:banghead::banghead::banghead: )

please note the very mk1 Tudor pushers ( vey similar to the " millerighe" for 6240/early 6263 ) :

There was one of these (94300) on eBay a short time ago that had the signature of Hafez Al-Assad (former Syrian president and father of the current Syrian president). I don't know if that makes it worth more or less, but it went for around 6k.

Update: For the record, I no longer endorse this dealer after a couple of bad experiences with them.

You may wish to open a new thread with this news on that dealer - and quote your older, earlier recommendation of same.

Else it will be lost in the many old threads.
