Anyone here own a 38mm? 42mm vs 38mm?
I'm trying to find more pics and info from someone that has purchased or spent time with a 38mm Due. Considering the watch myself for my 6.5" wrists.
I typically stick to my 36mm DJ's and think the 38 would be best for me, but would love to hear from some people out there who have one. I was able to try one on about 8 months ago, but cannot find another to try on. I revived an old post by someone, which is a couple down from this (at time of posting). Would also love to hear some thoughts vs the 42. Help and pics appreciated! |
I own the 42mm PAM728 with the in house movement.
Small wrists @ 6.3 in. Originally wasn't toi interested in panerai as 44mm on my wrists look ridiculous. The PAM728 caught my eye for a couple reasons: 1. Stunning blue dial 2. Low profile - easily slides under a cuff, nice and light titanium case. Super comfortable to wear 3. In house movement and 70 hr power reserve Attached are a few pics for reference. I like the 42mm size over the 38 because even though I have small wrists - I feel panerai should be worn larger For me, that just can't be a chunky 44mm-47mm piece https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ad5304f500.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9ee4404e1c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e853d40410.jpg |

PAM048 is 40mm.
https://www.chrono24.com/panerai/ref-pam00048.htm#gref https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=pam+48 But for something that can easily slide under the cuff... I really do love my 728 due. Thinner case is nice and as I stated - lack of water resistance doesn't bother me like it does some of the purists. |
I own a PAM574 which is the 42mm Radiomir with the P1000 manual wind movement in it. I also have 6.25-6.5" wrists. It wears nice but is definitely as big as I would ever go for my wrist size. It actually seems to wear smaller than my old 40mm PAM048 I got rid of. Likely because it's so thin at 11mm.

I saw the 38mm in the Boutique. It is extremely small and delicate looking and really not a mans watch. I have 44mm which I love even though I don’t have large wrists. Go and try them on, you might be surprised. The cases, particularly the 1950s sit beautifully.

I’ve tried on PAM00728 last weekend.
Wrist is 6.5” here The watch is surprisingly light, slim and comfortable. Lug size is about the same as Submariner but the 42mm dial feels over powering. https://i.ibb.co/XyKgxSh/4006531-D-0...F3359422-F.jpg https://i.ibb.co/7Wfz00d/A6-B8723-F-...7786-A5-A1.jpg |
