You are correct Ben. I'm fairly certain that Sam has the 'H' serial which tended to have a smoother bezel finish. Mine is the newer 'I' serial which they made the ceramic finish more pronounced (and I like).

Both amazing pieces

Yes Paul, you are right! Mine is the older "H" serial and that was what I told Ben the other day...I like your newer model more!!

The difference is not that visible in real life unless light hits it, so don't sweat it

Err... I beg to differ. The difference is very visible. The same difference exist for the earlier version of the Ceramic Diver and the current production ones. I much prefer the bezel with the prominent vertical lines though that is a matter of personal preference.

The other difference is the weight--'I' serial is lighter. Having owned both, trust me it is (and that's a good thing for me).

Well, I have an I stainless 26400 with the brushed ceramic, and the vertical brushing is very subtle. Chalk it to varying AP tolerances I suppose.

I agree with you Ben. The version with prominent vertical brush lines looks much much better and gives stronger reflection on light. The reflection caused by the different brushing effect is significant if you compare them side by side under the same light source. Almost +1ev (just an estimation by my eyes) difference if compared under a 12v halogen bulb. That would cause a perceivable difference in real life for sure. I almost want my Ginza FC upgrade to the current version of ceramic bezel because Ginza's bezel simply looks dull when I put my ceramic diver next to it.

Interesting. I got mine in November 2013 (not that long after they hit the boutiques) and the brushing on mine is quite noticeable.

In regards to 44 rose gold h and I

I sold my friend my h serial 26400
And bought an I serial 26400
Weight is the same on all 26400's whether h or I , for the 26401's they modified the inners and less gold.

My h and I serial 26400's look identical, ceramic bezel wise.
