There has to be a better way (thread)..
We have some very smart and astute people here on TRF, so besides the obvious Rolex rants of online sales, supply etc., I would like to hear members input that can improve day to day minutia, we all see and deal with.
Here is one (albeit small and insignificant in the grand scheme); I buy a lot of fruit each week. I come home and have to peel that tiny sticker off apples, pears, etc ..peeling each one off, tears the skin and the PLU (price look up) at the register does not even use these.. There has to be a better way.. |
Buy a roll of 3/4” wide blue painter’s tape and grab the stickers with that. If that’s not strong enough then clear packing tape should grab them.

In the same context, those dang barcode and/or stickers they put on stuff that leave glue residue behind that is a pain to remove. Even worse the stickers with slits in them designed to purposely disintegrate when you peel them off. I think that is a security measure so people can't remove price stickers in a store but they sure make it frustrating to remove them at home.

I have found that LPS1 removes residual glue quite well. Follow with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

Perhaps the stickers are of greater utility at some other point in the distribution chain? Buying food locally may help.

I spray food safe and prep sanitizer on my wife’s fruit and veg. Takes off any food safe adhesive and wax.
During these times, all my wife’s groceries sit in the garage overnight sprayed before entering the lovenest. |
