Has anyone successfully serviced a TC-2 at Omega?
Hi all, I've inherited my late dad's Omega TC-2 which unfortunately isn't functioning. I know I could get a 3rd party replacement from however would prefer a proper Omega service.

I went to my local AD in Perth, Western Australia and they shipped it off to Omega service in the eastern states (don't know Melbourne or Sydney) which apparently said that they couldn't service the old TC-1/2s, nor could Omega HQ in EU.

I thought I'd doublecheck here to see if that information is correct/accurate? Anyone care to advise please?

Tried through Omega Sydney and no luck. They are old circuit boards that they don't stock. Since they are old watches the batteries generally leak and destroy the boards.

Ended up sending it to who put an aftermarket chip in it.

Out of curiosity do you have the original magnet to set it?

I was hoping that they would proceed to Omega HQ in EU though but they said HQ wouldn't be able to assist either. Pity considering Omega has a restoration service. To put it bluntly, I wasn't certain if Omega in Sydney didn't want to bother handling shipping this watch back to HQ, or it truly couldn't be serviced (as such my post here).

The condition of my watch is unfortunately abysmal. Aside from the electronics, the glass probably needs a change, and the whole thing needs a polish.

As for, thank you. I guess it's like Guess if I can't keep it as original as possible and going aftermarket is the only choice, chest la vie.

Yes I still have the original magnet in the clasp.

Do you mind posting an image of the magnet as a reference.
Would love to get mine back to a full set.

Have seen some with a split in the middle and wasn’t sure if mine was original.

RED LED watches are a different breed.
Your typical watch repair man, will not be able to fix.
You need someone that specializes in circuits.

Try googling red led watch repair.
Here is one I found.
