Daniel Craig wearing Bond Nato band at the latest movie Spectre

Here's the photo spotted at the streets of Rome during the movie actions.. It seems to be a nato band but not sure about the watch as it must be an Omega..

It would be nice if they used the new Seamaster 300

Vincent65 22 February 2015 05:42 AM

looking sharp

Minimalist 22 February 2015 05:59 AM

Man I can't wait to see this movie! Kind of looks like a leather strap with double bumps, however you describe it.

brandrea 22 February 2015 06:15 AM

I'm watching Casino Royale (again) as I type this. Huge Daniel Craig fan:thumbsup: even if he doesn't wear a Rolex:chuckle:

He does. His Bond doesn't.

Watch from J crew maybe, they carry natos too.

Doubt it since Bond's wristwatch is obvious product placement territory and Omega surely wants to stay on as provider to Craig's Bond. They even paid to get mentioned in the script during the train scene of one film.

Anyone know what car(s) he's driving in this film?

Aston Martin will debut their new model DB10, custom made for this movie.

@OT, Craig will be using the new model of Omega, Seamaster Aquaterra with the new antimagnetic movement.

Fort Rolex 22 February 2015 11:35 AM

I'd bet it's the new 300 as it would look great on that nato and they could place it in the movie. Win/win for Omega

RollieVerde 22 February 2015 11:45 AM

Criag used to only wear Omegas when in wardrobe; he was regularly seen wearing a Rolex even on publicity tours for the moves. At the time "James Bond" was an Omega Ambassador but not Daniel Craig. So now he is one as well, and I assume he has a certain contractual obligation to wear an Omega. But I can't see him scrapping his other watches as he clearly liked wearing them. It would be interesting to see what the Omega contract actually says. Regardless, I think the guy is definitely into fine timepieces and I assume he probably has an impressive collection. I find it hard to believe he'd be obligated to only wear Omegas when in public.

Wow, very cool, thanks for sharing! DC is definitely supposed to be wearing an Omega in the films. Maybe it's one of his own Rolexes??

Omega has their own line of Nato straps now so I'm guessing it's this one...

I've tried some on. Very well made, as all Omega accessories are. But very pricey...somewhere around $175.

Cool, thanks for the info! I will definitely check them out!!

The watch he's wearing is the new Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial in SS on an Omega NATO strap.

It's this one. I have had it for a couple months now. It's pretty damn nice IMO.

The odd thing about that Omega NATO, even though it is well made, is that it uses an Omega buckle that has a spring bar, which, compared to cheapie NATOs, adds another point of failure...which is kinda the point of NATOs in the first place. :chuckle:

It's also kind of funny to see Bond wearing a NATO that is the color often misidentified as the original Bond NATO color.

SeaAndSky 4 June 2015 10:16 AM

I can hardly wait to see the new Bond! I love Bomd movies. Craig is the best Bond ever in my opinion. He really should be wearing a Rolex.

Bond didn't actually wear a NATO at all though, did he? Wasn't it just a regular nylon strap?

psv 4 June 2015 10:29 AM

The original Bond watch in the movies was a Submariner 6538 on ZULU strap

http://gearpatrol.wpengine.netdna-cd...ar-patrol-.jpg

This is just Omega/Swatch Group cashing in on the vintage fad in the watch industry, selling their NATO straps for $180 (!). It is shrewd marketing, nothing else. The real James Bond in Ian Flemmings book wore a Rolex. Nothing else.

Lol-x 4 June 2015 10:34 AM

The audacity of Omega to cash in on Rolex territory :banghead:

I wasn't really a ZULU, either. If anything, I'd say it was most like a RAF strap, with a somewhat unique buckle and nylon keeper.

edit: Just saw Old Expat Beasts link which goes into detail.

Regardless, Bond wears Rolex. Nothing else. The rest is just marketing.

That isn't necessarily true, either, if you really want to get into it. He wore a lot of somewhat disposable watches that were lighter in weight for much of the original book series, and the Rolex he did wear likely had marketing intent, too.

Is this a new refreshed model or has the seamaster always looked like this? It looks strikingly similar to a fifty fathoms model. Both look great...

It's a new homage to their '50s Seamaster.

Right, but the only watch ever mentioned by brand by the Ian Fleming himself was Rolex, even if it was 10 years after the first book.
