I am guessing it is a front load watch, and you would have to pop the bezel off and pull the movement out of the case. You have to look and see where the seam is at, don't just take a knife to the back and start yanking. It will just scratch the case.
Looks like actual 14k gold to me, not plate. That is why I am assuming it is authentic with a redone dial. K1 is probably a makers mark.
