There are a couple of reasons the date might not be there.
1. The watch was first dealt out the back door of an AD to a grey marketer - who then sold it to a person - who then never needed warranty work - who then sold it to whomever you are buying it from.
2. The watch was stolen in 2014-ish from the AD (very unlikely but the other reason a date could be blank)
