Buz - OK, here's an update: I just got the spring bar tool (6111 Bergeon). Good news and bad news about the size. The bad news - it's just a few hair lengths too wide. The good news - it was soooo close to the exact size, I just ground off about 1/20th of a millimeter from both sides of the fork. Now it fits in the spring bar opening perfectly and slides back and forth easily.
