you know, everyone is saying just out-right "don't sell the pepsi" because it isn't made anymore. However, everyone's situation is different and if you're not feeling the 16710 then it is what it is.
However, I would encourage you to buy the Explorer I first and try it on for awhile if you're financially able to. This gives you a great side-by-side comparison to see which watch you prefer. Additionally, both the Explorer / GMT should have decent liquidity where you can sell it at a decent price without too much concern.
Regarding the fact that they "don't make the pepsi anymore", while that may be true I feel you can always find one on the used/secondary market without too much trouble. So at the end of the day take some calculated risks while keeping your options open and you'll figure out which watch is the one for you.
