I purchased the Rolex 1016 September 11, 2018 from a private USA collector on RolexForums, who had purchased the watch earlier in 2018 from San Francisco watch dealer HQ Milton. HQ Milton told the collector that the watch had been procured from the original owner.

The watch received an overhaul service in October 2018 by Four Crowns Watch Service, 608 South Hill Street, Suite 1001, Los Angeles, CA 90014.

Four Crowns Watch Service is owned by former Rolex USA Technical Service Manager Shant Der Boghosian. Shant was with Rolex USA for two decades. His watchmaker co-owners are all prior expert technicians with whom he worked at Rolex of Beverly Hills Service Center.

According to Shant, the 1016 had been serviced a few times during its lifetime as evidenced by watch makers’ marks on the case back. He immediately recognized the mark of one of the watchmakers who had serviced the watch in the 1980s and mentioned it was someone significant in the Rolex world, as if to suggest the watch had been well looked after. I do not recall the name of the watchmaker. Shant mentioned all parts appeared to be original.

Crowns Watch Service performed a full overhaul service – disassembling movement, cleaning and lubricating parts, installing a new genuine Rolex mainspring, re-assembling and adjusting time to Rolex specifications. The case and bracelet were cleaned, but not polished. New genuine Rolex spring bars were installed. The crystal was already in excellent condition when I received it. The service cost $668.

The bracelet is a 6251H folded link jubilee bracelet with 20 links, and 55 end links. Date code 4/72. Bracelet has been tightened and cleaned by Rolliworks, and stretch is now 90% of new. The jubilee bracelet will fit a maximum 7 1/8" wrist (snugly). The service cost $370.

The watch will be furnished with original Rolex box, original Rolex certificate plus service receipts from Four Crowns Watch Service and Rolliworks, and a letter from Michael Hui of Rolliworks stating opinion of condition originality of the watch.

All the images I have for this watch are posted in the listing.

I paid $20,550 for the watch, plus $1038 in servicing, so I am into the watch for $21,588.

I am asking $19,995 plus shipping.
