A prince is a specific watch from Rolex with a specific movement and case
It is rectangular with the winding barrel and balance wheel located at the opposite ends of the movement , allowing for a larger balance wheel.
Also known as the doctors watch ( see adverts) it came in multiple cases- most desirable were the brancard ( stretcher ) shaped, also straight cased and also railway cased.
Cases were made of steel, white gold pink gold yellow gold and rarely platinum.
Some were combination of colours called a Tiger stripe case
Lots of fakes and many more redo dial are around than a true all original Prince
Most rectangular cased Rolex were called Princes but most are not
