I had always aspired to own a SS sub and in 1994 when I started to earn a little money I sought out a 16610. At the time the retail was like $2,300 (a lot of money at the time for me). I was able to play two ADs off each other and ended up paying $1,700. Still have the watch and love every bit as much as the day I got it. I remember around 2000 when Subs broke the $5,000 price point and I scratched my head wondering who in their right mind would pay $5K for a SS Sub. Silly question now but it’s all relative to the moment.
