Rolex center called me back to pick up the watch just 2 days after I put it in hence I suspect it should be dirt which needs cleaning. I would think that a defect will warrant more repair/replacement and will not just take 2 days to rectify.
Honestly, I did not plan to observe the watch so closely with a loupe. I only do it after discovering the initial defect on the bezel, just to make sure there are no other issues.
