I agree. While these watches are clearly very similar to one another and while I can see why the owners of the 2017 version might be angry, there are a few important things that make them different from one another. My perfect version is neither or a combination of both: it would be the 2017 release with no date, no plaque, a brushed finish, and on a bracelet. Both versions are compromises for me, although I would, and did, choose the Hodinkee version.
Do you think a bracelet for this can be had from Blancpain?
