Yes, in the real world the texture isn't super-noticeable - as you usually don't see it in low lighting indoors, it seems flat; while if the lighting is too high you don't see it either - too many reflections despite the anti-reflective coating underneath the glass.
But if you're outside with lots of light, and then part of the watch face goes into shadow (so there's no glare in the way) you can see the texture, it makes it a bit more interesting.
I really like the clear and simple design, and the way the seconds hand lands on the markers perfectly without any shake. And of course quartz means you can just put it on and go whenever. It's slow by about 2 seconds over the last 6 months (not seconds per day, seconds per 6 months)!
