The blame doesn’t lie solely with the gray market dealers. There is plenty of blame to go around in this current reality when everybody’s incentives are messed up.

I’ll repeat it again - There is little incentive for an AD to sell a customer a hot watch when they can make a lot more money elsewhere. There is little incentive for a new customer to keep a hot watch when they can either make a lot of easy money, or they need to buy stuff to get to the level of attaining what they’ve wanted all along.

Until that cycle is broken, the grays will thrive and they are simply providing a service. A valuable service that is necessary for the overall strength of the watch market, in my view.
